The Little Match Seller is a puppet theatre performance without words directed by Elina Putkinen (Sixfingers Theatre).
Based on H. C. Andersen’s fairytale The Little Match Seller tells the world famous story about a little girl who is fighting against her destiny. In the darkness of the world she is led on by her powerful imagination, strong will to live and the box of matches inherited from her grandmother.
The performance uses real fire, live music and tabletop puppets brought to life by four puppeteers. It was performed for the first time at the Turku arts academy Puppet Theatre Department's graduation showcase Fanatk Figuras. Performance has been touring at many international and domestic festivals.
